II. RULES & REGULATIONS
RULE XVIII

CAMPUS PUBLICATION
It is the policy of Aklan Polytechnic College to uphold and protect the freedom of the press and accordingly has promulgated regulations on student publications based on the Campus Journalism Act of 1992 and in consonance with acceptable standards of journalism.
Any student desiring more information on campus journalism may go to the Office of Publication Adviser for details.
RULE XIX
CO-CURRICULAR ACTIVITIES
The Aklan Polytechnic College provides the students with excellent and effective opportunities for participation in a well-balanced and properly coordinated co-curricular activities program subjects to the following guidelines:
1. All extra and co-curricular activities to be held inside/outside the COLLEGE must be registered with the Office of Student Affairs (OSA), as follows:
a. Secure from the OSS an application form to hold an activity;
b. Indicate the nature of the activity and how to implement the same, etc, in consultation with faculty
adviser/s;
c. Submit the accomplished application form in duplicate copies at least five (5) days prior to said
activity.

For co-curricular activities related to subject areas, to be held off campus, the following procedures shall
apply:
a. Organization President/Adviser writes a formal application letter Student Organization Coordinator.
In case the application is filed by the Organization President, the same may be endorsed by the Faculty Adviser.
b. The student Organization Coordinator may approve or disapprove the letter/request.
RULE XX
COLLECTION OF FEES & FUND-RAISING ACTIVITIES
No sale of tickets, collection of contributions and other forms of solicitation, whether voluntary or otherwise, form students and faculty members by any person for any project or purpose, shall be allowed. This rule does not apply to:
a. Student organization fees imposed by the student council to fund legitimate student activities.
b. Fees charged for dramatic presentation or athletic competition if sold to the general public.
Whenever fees are collected, as permitted herein or by law, proper accounting and auditing of the same should be made and kept as part of the records of any student organization undertaking such collection. The Office of Student Service shall be furnished a copy of the audited statement of income and expenditures.
All collections and donations, as well as savings made from any fund drive, should be deposited with the COLLEGE Treasure’s Office where it shall be kept in trust and from which withdrawals could be made for authorized activities.
Any person or organization intending to undertake a fund drive must file a formal application to conduct the same, endorsed by the Faculty Adviser/s, with the Office of Students Affairs Coordinator at least two (2) weeks before the date of the activity. The letter shall contain the following.
a. Nature and purpose of the activity.
b. The date/s, time and venue of the activity.
c. The permit from the local office Department of Social Welfare and Development indicating the benefi
ciary (ies) of the funds to be raised.
d. The manner by which the funds shall used.
All fund-raising activities are subject to the following rules and regulations:
a. A recognized student organization may be allowed to sponsor only one (1) fund-raising activity per semester.
b. A financial report, duly audited, of said activity shall be filled with the Office of Student Affairs within two (2) weeks after termination of the activity. Failure to do so shall be a valid ground for withdrawal/revocation or recognition.
c. Two (2) weeks before the start of the final examination, a ban on all student activities shall be enforced to ensure that all students are given enough time to review for their examination.
d. A.P.C. recognized activities or gatherings sponsored by students and conducted after 5p.m. within the Institute premises, as well as those scheduled during non-class days, must be attended by a faculty adviser.
