II. RULES & REGULATIONS

RULE XXVI

 

THE LIBRARY

   

The LIBRARY adopts the “open shelf” system whereby students are allowed immediate access to the books. The requirements for making use of the library facilities are set forth in the Library Guide which is given to a bonafide A.P.C. student on request at the Office of the Librarian located in the second floor of the Administration Building.

 

No references book shall be brought out of the library.

RULE XXVIII

​

PHYSICAL EDUCATION

​

The Aklan Polytechnic College acknowledges physical education as a significant component of the education process contributing to the enhancement and harmonization of the physical, social , moral and intellectual development of the APCan student.

​

The Physical Education Program of the COLLEGE is geared to the DECS Order No. 58, s. 1990, specifically to the following guidelines as provided for in Article VII of the aforesaid Order:

​

The time allotment for Basic or Service Physical Education is thirty-six (36) hours per semester during the first two years (4 semesters);

 

Physical Education classes shall be met two (2) hours a week. Classes shall be scheduled during regular school days.

 

Each Physical Education subject is given two (2) units of semestral credit which should be included in the summation of the total semestral load. No student shall be allowed to take more than one (1) Physical Education Subject per semester.

 

Exemption from College Physical Education shall have prior approval of the appropriate government agency. Any of the following conditions shall be the basis for exemption.:

a. Degree holders pursuing another degree;

b. Men and women active in the military service;

c. Men and women who had rendered at least 2 years military service.

Student who are physically handicapped permanent or temporary shall, upon enrolment in Physical Education present medical certificates to the instructor in Physical Education, who in turn shall place such students in a special group and assign activities suited to their condition.

RULE XXIX

​

NAVAL RESERVE OFFICERS TRAINING CORPS (NSTP)

​

With the new NSTP law, enrollment in NROTC is optional, however students taking up Maritime Courses are required by the institute to undergo NROTC. This is to orient the Maritime graduates on the customs and traditions of the navy essential for the pursuit of the maritime profession.

 

Female students may take up either the NROTC or Civic Welfare Training Services (CWTS).
